C63 ICT Manager

Salary: £51,085 - £52,804 (pay award pending) Full-Time

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and forward thinking organisation, working in the public supporting our local residents. You will have the opportunity to develop and lead on ICT Service Delivery, Information Governance, and Business Transformation. We are looking for someone who has experience in developing and oversee an ICT strategy, and promote business development and improvement in line with the Council’s core objectives and priorities. Ensure that the necessary frameworks and standards exist for ICT Services, as well as ensuring surveillance and information governance controls and procedures are aligned to data protection laws.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience with:-

  • all ICT functions such as incident, change, and problem management, availability, business continuity, cyber security, infrastructure, and data centre management.
  • ICT service delivery, information and quality assurance, business transformation, system development, information management and governance.
  • can present complex IT/technical arguments and reports in ways which are capable of being comprehended by non-technical audience.
  • project and Programme Management.
  • significant experience of managing integrated ICT function at a senior level within a complex organisation and financial management including control of a business area/function at a senior level.
  • managing and resolving employee relation problems.
  • extensive experience of managing multi skilled and disciplined teams.

The ideal candidate would be:

  • Graduate level qualification required (or equivalent higher education).
  • ITIL Qualification
  • Prince2 Qualification
  • Management Qualification
  • Awareness of the pressures and changes affecting Local Government in general and Local Government ICT services in particular .
  • Detailed understanding of ICT industry trends the criteria for evaluating technology changes and strategic changes in the IS/IT market place.
  • An understanding of modern management methods and theory.
  • Understanding of Local Authority finance.
  • Understanding of IT procurement process within the context of European legislation.
  • Understanding of the contracting process and contract letting.
  • Someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours

What you need to know:

This role may require you to be flexible to work outside of normal working hours; however, the Council has flexible working arrangements in place to ensure a work/life balance is achievable.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be invited to the main Council Office based in Beeston. Upon arrival you will be asked to present a 10 minute presentation, followed by a 50 minute interview covering experience and scenario based questions.
