Requesting to Film

If you'd like to film in one of our parks, open spaces, or cemeteries, please complete the online Request Form. (Opens in a New Window)

By completing the form you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below.

Once we have received your completed form, we will review your request and, if the application is considered appropriate we will email back confirmation of your permission to proceed.

Filming requests will not be granted without proof of public liability insurance.

The Council can only grant permission to film on Council owned land. Any filming requests on public highways should be directed to Nottinghamshire County Council (Opens in a New Window). 

Any filming requests on private land should be directed to the land owner.

Terms and Conditions

Public Venue Restrictions

The Council's Parks, Open Spaces, and Cemeteries are open 365 days per year, so please note that we cannot fence off or exclude public access from areas while crews are filming.

If permission is granted for filming, contact needs to be made with the Parks and Environment team to arrange access to the site.

Ground Conditions

The Council reserves the right to refuse access if ground conditions are considered unsuitable. For large events a bond of £1000 will be required. This bond will be returned if no problems are encountered during the filming.

Decency and Reputation

The Council cannot support anything likely to bring the authority or the venue into disrepute or cause offence to the general public e.g. criminal activity, racism, nudity, extreme political views, etc. If your project tackles controversial subject matter, the Council needs to be aware of this and has the right to refuse filming on such occasions at its facilities.

Protection of Children and Young People

Please note that the Council cannot allow any filming or photography which could be construed as exploiting children or young people (e.g. provocative poses/costumes). All photographic models must be over 18 or work with written consent of their parent/carer.

Individual images of park users, especially families with children, should be taken only if permission and a model release form has been obtained.

Fees and charges

If footage or photography is to be broadcast, printed or used for commercial purposes and has not been arranged by the Council's Corporate Communications Team as part of the Council's work, a charge of £200 per site per day or £100 per site per half day applies. We will invoice you in advance of the event at the address supplied.

Additional charges may apply to the use of pavilions for use of electricity, heating, etc.

There is no charge for amateur, education, charity or not for profit uses.

Damage

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, you will be required to pay the costs of repairing any damage to the park caused during filming.
