How can Beeston ride the climate roller coaster? The world is locked into erratic weather events, already disrupting both seasons and lifestyles. To avoid complete breakdown we have to radically cut our carbon emissions and learn to live differently. Some countries are beginning to do so. Many communities are leading the way. This talk will explore some of the ways we might make these changes… for the better. About the Speaker Alan is a recovering politician, and climate campaigner. He was Sustainability Advisor to Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell MP (2015-2020) and before that was the Labour MP for Nottingham South (1992-2010). After leaving parliament he became Climate and Energy Advisor to Friends of the Earth, then to the Environment Committee of the Welsh Assembly and most recently authored the Local Edge report of the Parliamentary Green New Deal Group.
