Get ready to kick off the festive season as Broxtowe's much anticipated Christmas Lights Switch On events begin with Stapleford. The celebration will take place on Victoria Street, Victoria Street car park and the Walter Parker VC Memorial Square

Starting at 12:00pm, the Christmas market will bring an array of festive treats and gifts. Visitors can indulge in delicious hot food, sweets, and donuts, whilst also exploring various community stalls. Face painting and glitter tattooing will add a touch of festive magic for the little ones.

Santa Claus is making a special appearance at his magical grotto, inside The Stapleford & Bramcote Conservative Club. From 2:00pm to 4:30pm, children can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes and enjoy the festive magic. Accessible sensory sessions are available again this year from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, with bookings on a first come, first served basis, reserve your spot early! Book for free now at Eventbrite.

The main festivities will begin at 4:30pm with live entertainment at the Victoria Street car park. Expect plenty of fun including children's fairground rides, festive street theatre acts, Elves and the Goodometer – have you been naughty or nice? And a human nativity trail organised by the Stapleford Churches. Carol singing by the Footlights will fill the air with classic Christmas tunes, creating a warm, joyful atmosphere. The evening will culminate with a live performance by the 6-piece band, The SKAS, playing the very best of Ska and 2Tone.

The Christmas Lights Switch On ceremony, a highlight of the event, will take place at 5:30pm, led by the Mayor of Broxtowe and the Stapleford Town Mayor. Be sure to stick around for the grand finale—a spectacular firework display at 6:30pm. The best spot to catch the show is from Victoria Street Car Park.

Please note that Victoria Street will be closed from 9:00am – 9:00pm and Victoria Street Car Park will be closed all day for the event. All residents affected by closures will receive letters to notify them that their road is affected by the closure.
