Get ready for a magical day as Beeston's annual Christmas Lights Switch On event returns to Beeston Square, Foster Avenue car park and Beeston High Road. Join us for an afternoon filled with festive cheer, treats and entertainment.

Starting at 12:00pm, the Christmas market in Beeston Square will feature a delightful selection of festive goodies and gifts. Indulge in a range of hot food, sweets and donuts and add some sparkle with festive face painting. Don’t forget to visit the community and charity stalls to show your support for their wonderful work.

Santa will make a special appearance at his magical grotto in Beeston Library, which will be open from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Children can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes and enjoy the festive magic. Accessible sensory sessions are available again this year from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, with bookings on a first come, first served basis, reserve your spot early! Book for free now at Eventbrite.

The main festivities will begin at 4:30pm at Beeston Square, featuring lively festive street theatre act, the Bouncing Elves. Enjoy fun fairground rides at Foster Avenue Car Park and along Beeston High Road. The evening will culminate with a live performance by the 5-piece band Spotlight, with an energetic performance of music throughout the decades and some festive favourites.

At 5:30pm, the Mayor of Broxtowe will lead the Christmas Lights Switch On ceremony at  Beeston Square. The evening will end with a dazzling firework display at 6:30pm, best viewed from Foster Avenue. Don’t miss carol singing led by the Redeemer Church just before the firework display from 6.00pm at the top of Foster Avenue. 

We encourage visitors to use public transport where possible. The Beeston Tram and Bus Interchange brings you right to the heart of Beeston and is just a 1 min walk  from the Square.

Please note that the Foster Avenue car park will be closed all day and parking in the town centre is limited. All residents affected by the closures will receive letters to notify them that their road is affected by the closure.
