Celebrating 40 Community Projects in Broxtowe, supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund - as Broxtowe Borough Council announces next round of funding
The Council’s allocation of grants reflects its commitment to ensuring that funds are directed towards projects that have had a profound positive impact on the lives of its residents, supporting projects such as:
- 7 Sports facility enhancements – including Attenborough Cricket Club, Awsworth Cricket Club, Eastwood Athletic Football Club, Eastwood Tennis Club, and Eastwood Cricket Club.
- 5 Culture and heritage projects – including development of Parky Players’ ‘Shaken Not Stirred’ production and Stapleford Town Council’s History of the Fallen project.
- 3 Community hall improvements – including Chilwell Memorial Institute and Beeston Rylands Community Centre.
- 10 Community hall committees supported through Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire’s (RCAN) SAY Now programme.
- 8 Community facilities and activities – including Kimberley Community Garden, Forever Stars and The Plane Tree CIO.
- 8 Local action and volunteering projects – including Mind Nottinghamshire’s #WellCafes in Eastwood and Chilwell, Chayah Community Project in Stapleford and Broxtowe Women’s Project’s ‘Power of Words’.
- 6 Public events – including Beeston Light Night, Stapleford-on-Sea and Kimberley Valentines Festival.
Broxtowe Borough Council is now opening a new round of community grants for 2025/6, offering between £5,000 and £40,000 for community projects in Broxtowe running between 1 July 2025 and 31 March 2026. Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Asset Management, Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE, said, ‘I’m proud that we have been able to offer grants to such a wide range of incredible community groups, where funding is vital, that make such a difference in our communities right across the Borough. We are delighted to have been awarded further funding for 2025/26, enabling us to deliver even more, and continue working with local groups that make such a difference in Broxtowe.’
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is UK Government funded and Broxtowe Borough Council was allocated a total of £2,584,477 over a three-year period 2022-25, with a further £1,056,720 allocation for 2025/6. Activity funded in 2024/5 includes local business, skills and community projects, including a set of community grant-funded projects.
