Business Women Celebrate 267 years in business for International Women’s Day
They have achieved a combined 267 years in business, tying in nicely with this year’s theme of ‘accelerating action’. The businesses all have something in common, offering modern and attractive ways of elevating our lifestyles.
Philippa Dytham-Double (Double Image Photography) and Mary Noble (The Wedding Room) are highlighting the large proportion of women-owned businesses on Chilwell Road and High Road, some of whom have been delighting customers there for many years.
Philippa said: ‘It's really impressive that we have so many brilliant, independent businesses run by women on Chilwell Road and High Road offering such a wide and individual range of products and services. It really makes this part of Beeston a diverse and interesting destination and enhances the overall draw of Beeston as a place to visit’.
Mary added: ‘The theme of ‘Accelerate Action' will really help to boost gender equality, which is really needed in both business and society. Running our own businesses most of the time, we don’t often have the opportunity to meet with others and we’ve loved working together to highlight the achievements of local businesswomen for International Women's Day this year. We’re planning new ways to work together again in the future and celebrate the contribution we make to local life’.
Philippa has visited businesswomen in their premises and photographed them displaying the number of years they have been in business and these will be shared across social media in celebration of IWD 2025, on 8 March.
