Over 500 visitors came to the Festival and the Green Doctor stall was busy giving free practical advice to help people take control of their bills and save energy in the home.

Green Doctor works closely with Citizens Advice Broxtowe (CAB), offering energy-saving advice to CAB clients. The Council’s £25,000 funding means that Green Doctor coaches will work with 100 households across the Borough this year.

Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Asset Management, Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE said, ‘We all know that the price of energy has increased sharply over the last few years, bringing many into fuel poverty. Having the Green Doctor at the Green Festival will have helped our residents save money.’

Project Lead at Groundwork, Debra Laking said, ’The Green Doctor team are attending four big events in Broxtowe this year – you may have come across us at Hemlock Happening – and we were delighted to attend the Eastwood Green Festival. We met many local residents and provided lots of energy-saving advice while they enjoyed a great day out.’
