STAPLEFORD CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON UPDATE
Heavy rain accompanied by widespread strong winds and gusts present safety concerns and challenging conditions for the safe set up and installation of the stage and marquees with the strong wind speeds that are forecast.
The good news is that Santa has arrived safely in town and Santa’s magical grotto will remain open at The Stapleford & Bramcote Conservative Club on Derby Road from 2.00pm until 5.30pm, please note that the queue may need to close at 4.30pm. The pre-booked accessible Santa sensory sessions will continue at 1.00pm.
The Elves and their ‘Goodometer’ street theatre will be relocated inside, they will be checking who has been naughty or nice as you wait to meet Santa.
The light switch on will still take place at 5.30pm and we will provide an update later today as to whether the fireworks will take place or not.
Please be careful if you are visiting Santa today as there are still some patches of ice under foot.
