Express yourself at free art workshops – part of the Broxtowe Creates Festival
The workshops will compliment a host of a diverse cultural events which will take place as part of the festival, including theatre performances, art workshops, film showings, live music, a children’s writing competition and an art exhibition.
The free workshops include:
- 1 June – Lino Printing with Marcus Gilmore - 10.00am until 2.00pm at Yellow Wood Café, 42 Chilwell Road, Beeston, NG9 1EJ
- 8 June – Watercolour Painting with Anjana Cawdell - 10.00am until 1.00pm at Rumbletums, 2A Victoria Street, Kimberley, NG16 2NH
- 15 June – Willow Art with Katrine Scott-Mitchell - 9.30am until 12.30pm at Eastwood Library, Wellington Place, Eastwood, NG16 3GB
There will also be a Summer Craft, Chill and Chat event on Tuesday, the 25 June from 6.00pm and 9.00pm at The Plessey Centre, Marconi Drive, Beeston, NG9 1NX.
The event will be a fun and enjoyable evening where you try your hand at watercolour painting, willow art and glass painting and take home your finished pieces.
Each artist will lead you through the techniques needed to create your own masterpiece whilst working with you in small groups. All materials and tools will be provided, all you need to do is come along and enjoy yourself!
Tickets cost £15 and spaces are limited so booking is essential.

Broxtowe Creates are also inviting residents to participate in an art competition based on the theme of ‘Friendship’. The closing date is 31 May and you can find out more and details of how to enter at www.abcartstrail.co.uk/broxtowecreatesart/art-competition (Opens in a new window).
The competition will be judged by four talented local artists. Selected artwork will be included in an online exhibition and an in-person exhibition in the former Argos store in Beeston Square from 10 June until 30 June.
