Bin types

My bin wasn’t collected, why?

There are several reasons why your bin was missed by the team this could be:

  • The lid was not shut fully so the bin was not safe for emptying.
  • The bin was contaminated with incorrect items.
  • Damage to the bin which meant that the bin lift couldn’t lift if safely.
  • If the bin was too heavy for the team and/or bin lift to move safely.
  • If the bin contained bricks, soil or rubble.

Report a missed bin

If your bin was put out for collection but was missed by the team you can report it using the Missed Bin function (Opens in New Window). The Council aims to collect your bin within 5 working days (not including weekends and bank holidays).

If you did not put your bin out for collection, it will be collected on your next scheduled collection day.
