Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan

The Councils are now working towards undertaking a further consultation on a draft Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan.

The Councils previously consulted in 2024 but there have now been key changes: 

• In December 2024, an updated National Planning Policy Framework and a new Standard Method for calculating housing need was published.  
• In March 2025, Gedling Borough Council took the decision to withdraw from the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan in order to prepare its own Local Plan.  

To reflect the changes, the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan has been updated and a new Regulation 19 Publication Draft consultation is being carried out.  

The consultation period is from Wednesday 12th March 2025 to 17:00 on Friday 25th April 2025.

Responses made in relation to the withdrawn Regulation 19 consultation, undertaken in 2024, will not be automatically carried forward to this consultation and will not be considered as part of a future examination. 

However, there is an option on the questionnaire to state you would like previous comments to be considered as part of this Regulation 19 consultation.
