H141 - Caretaker

£23,426 - £24,600 per annum (Grade 4)

Due to a recent restructure of the housing repairs service we are increasing the size of our caretaking team.

You will work to ensure that a high standard of estate management is maintained, through carrying out regular inspections of our blocks and estates to ensure that they are free from rubbish and graffiti.

You will take proactive action to address any issues identified during inspections and work closely with colleagues to address any issues.

You will promote a positive image of the Council as a landlord by engaging with tenants whilst working on estates.

 We’re looking for an individual who has experience of:

  • Working in a caretaker or similar role
  • Awareness of health and safety issues
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues from other departments

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to work alone and as a small team
  • Be enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Have a flexible approach to meet the needs of a demanding service
  • Be someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours
