C74 - ICT Cyber Security and Surveillance Officer

Salary: £34,671 to £36,401 (Grade 9) Full Time 37 hours

If you have experience with, and are passionate about security, you should apply for this new dynamic role. This is an exciting opportunity with a wide remit to ensure the security of Council assets and the safety of our residents. You will be responsible for protecting our Council from cyber-attacks, ensuring all ICT assets are up to date with the latest security patches, and infrastructure and business systems are maintained and fully up to date. You will also have the opportunity to be part of community safety across our Borough as the single point of contact (SPOC) for council-owned surveillance and monitoring systems. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of relevant strategic objectives, contract and procurement management, and policy creation in relation to camera surveillance, camera operations and maintenance. Acting as a subject matter expert to advise on cyber security and surveillance for the Council will be key for this role.

We are looking for someone with an ability to be self-motivated and handle a large and varied personal workload. To have appropriate skills gained in an ICT security and surveillance environment.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience with:
- working with and applying standards such as ITIL framework, ISO 27001 security standards or similar.
- using Cyber Security vulnerability scanning tools.
- prioritisation by criticality, and installation of security patching and remediation plans, as well as infrastructure and business application vulnerability patching.
- installing and accessing surveillance and monitoring equipment.
- Contract, procurement, and negotiation skills.

The ideal candidate would be:
• A Level or equivalent, in a relevant subject.
• certified in a Cyber Security subject matter.
• attended training on the use of surveillance equipment and code of practise.
• someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours.

What you need to know:
This role may require you to be flexible to work outside of normal working hours; however, the Council has flexible working arrangements in place to ensure a work/life balance is achievable.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be invited to the main Council Office based in Beeston. The interview will consist to a 20 minute technical test, followed by a 40 minute interview covering experience and scenario based questions.
