C39 - Communications and Engagement Officer
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, people person to work with us to listen, communicate and engage with local residents, businesses, community organisations and other stakeholders.
You’ll need great verbal and written communications skills to build relationships with the local community and encourage them to engage with the Council on a range of projects and issues including environment and climate change, health, business growth, community safety and housing.
Working with other members of the Communications Team, you’ll work across a wide range of communications channels, leading on consultations and face to face events across the Borough and supporting a range of other events organised by the Council.
You should have appropriate marketing or communications qualifications e.g. degree, CIPR or CIM or relevant experience.
We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:
- Writing content for a range of channels including press releases, publications e-newsletters and web content.
- Delivering targeted marketing campaigns to budget.
- Utilising social media channels.
- Analysing and evaluating campaign insights.
- Building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate would:
- Be highly motivated, organised and able to work under pressure and meet expected deadlines.
- Creative and willing to bring new ideas to the team.
- Invested in their own learning and able to learn quickly.
- Be a team player.
- Work on their own initiative.
- Be aware of new developments and technologies.
- Have excellent communication skills to build good customer relationships.
- Be forward thinking, flexible and innovative.
