2025 Garden Competition

To celebrate the tenants and leaseholders bringing a bit of life and colour to the community, in 2025 Housing are holding a Garden Competition.

The competition is sponsored by Matthews and Tannert (Opens in a New Window)

All Broxtowe Borough Council tenants and leaseholders can enter. If you don't have an allocated garden, we will consider crops in pots, and even houseplants on your windowsill. Please mention the competition to a green fingered neighbour who may be interested.

Categories

  • Best House or Flat Garden
  • Best Indoor Plant
  • Best Independent Living Communal Garden
  • Best Wildlife Garden
  • Prettiest flower

Tenants and leaseholders can enter as many categories as they like.


Prizes

Winner and runner up for each ‘Best’ category will receive gardening vouchers.

Winner: £50 Voucher

Runner up: £25 Voucher

Whoever wins Prettiest Flower gets a private visit for 2 people to a National Garden Scheme garden in Broxtowe with tea, cake and a box of plants!


Judging

Judging will take place the week commencing 23 June. You will be informed of the exact date closer to the time.

The judging criteria will focus on colour, variety, sustainability, creativity and effort. The size of the growing space will not be factored into judging.

The council may use photographs of garden competition entries in future publicity and publications on the website and in the newsletter.
