Support For Event Organisers
There are many events that take place throughout the Borough of Broxtowe every year. They can be large or small, indoors or outdoors, for charity or for commercial purposes.
Venue
When you're hosting an event, it's always important to ensure you have the right venue. In Broxtowe there are plenty of places you could pick to host your event from local Halls for Hire to our very own parks. Find out more about the different possible venues in the Borough and how to book them on our dedicated webpages:
Event Management Plan
If you are planning on hosting an event which is likely to require a Temporary Event Notice or involvement from the Safety Advisory Group, it is recommended that you complete an Event Management Plan. If you're not sure where to start, we've developed a template to help you know exactly what you need in place to ensure your event runs safely.

Temporary Event Notice
If you are hosting an event or 'licensable activity' on unlicensed premises or outside your current licence permissions then you will need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).
Licensable activity includes:
- selling alcohol
- serving alcohol to members of a private club
- providing entertainment, e.g. music, dancing or indoor sporting events
- serving hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am
A TEN is required for events with one of these 'licensable activity' which have fewer than 500 people attending and must last no more than 168 hours. They can be held either outdoors or indoors.

Safety Advisory Group
Broxtowe's Safety Advisory Group aims to assist and advise event organisers to achieve reasonable standards or public safety at events within the borough, safeguarding the well-being of residents and visitors at the events and ensuring that, as far as reasonably practicable, any inconvenience from the events is minimised.
The Safety Advisory Group must be involved for events which are:
- Large in scale – a mass gathering of over 2000 people
- Have hazardous elements to them
- Have never been delivered before in the Borough
- Have a significant public profile

What's On Where
If you need support advertising your event, you can always submit it to our What's On Where Calendar.
Every week we send out a What's On Where bulletin on our Email Me Service reaching nearly 7000 across Broxtowe.
Broxtowe Borough Council publicises events in the interests of encouraging community participation and bringing people together. However, it makes no warranty as to the safety and organisation of any events other than its own. If you are hosting an event and advertising it via our What's On Where Calendar, please ensure that your up-to-date contact details are available as all queries and concerns for your event are your responsibility.
