Start-Up Loans programme 

The Start-Up Loans Company is part of the British Business Bank and delivers the Government's Start-Up Loans programme. This provides finance and support for businesses struggling to access other forms of finance.  The programme has been running since 2012 with a mission to support new and early-stage businesses to access affordable finance and mentoring support. 

They offer Government-backed personal loans to those looking to start or grow a business. In addition to this, successful applicants also receive 12 months of free mentoring and business offers. Applicants will also be supported to submit applications.

The loan amount is between £500 and £25,000 with a fixed interest rate of 6% per annum.

University of Nottingham - Energy for Business

The University's Energy Innovation and Collaboration team can offer funded support to businesses in Broxtowe. This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is aimed at energy innovation in businesses and helping businesses to lower their carbon output. They offer a capital grants scheme for business growth.

First Enterprise

First Enterprise provide loans ranging from £500 to £250,000 for SMEs and social enterprises unable to borrow from traditional lenders. 

They are a Responsible Finance provider in the East Midlands that provide alternative and responsible finance services backed by the Government. They also provide a range of business support that accompany the loans to help you make the most of the funding.

Invest to Grow

Invest to Grow is a programme designed to support private sector businesses, predominantly in the form of loan funding, to grow and create jobs. Loans between £15,000 and £250,000 are available for businesses based within the East Midlands.

Midlands Engine Investment Fund

The Midlands Engine Investment Fund provides loan funding for smaller businesses, who would otherwise struggle to access finance, to help them achieve their full potential. It offers a range of support from start-up loans to businesses with ambitious growth plans.
