How to take part

Broxtowe Borough Council is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the local community. Improving local air quality is one way in which the Council are working to achieve this goal.

Following a previous public consultation in summer 2023, the Council have made a Revocation Order to revoke the existing smoke control orders and intend to replace them with a single smoke control order which will cover the entire district. Please note the restrictions on smoke only apply to buildings or furnaces with chimneys, not bonfires or household chimineas etc.

The Council have previously considered whether to apply the changes to moored vessels. Please note that this is no longer being proposed.
