Budget Consultation 2025/26

Have your say in Broxtowe's Budget Consultation.

In October 2024, the Council ran its annual Budget Consultation to help set a budget that balances the needs of the community with the money available to spend through income and grants.

The survey asked local residents, businesses and community and voluntary organisations to share their thoughts on Council services and how they think the budget should be spent. 

How many people took part?

1,290 responses were received.

Highlights

The results showed that:

  • 69% of people were either ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the area in which they live.
  • Over 55% are either ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the way that the Council delivers services.
  • The most preferred option for balancing the budget was to “support community wealth building approach to economic development, which redirects wealth back into the local economy and places control and benefits into the hands of local people” at 51%.
  • Over 51% of respondents were either very satisfied or satisfied with the way they can access Council services.

Next steps 

Cabinet noted the outcome of the Budget Consultation and considered the findings as part of the budget setting process for 2025/26.
